WICHITA, Kan. (Jan. 18, 2015) – The Edinboro wheelchair basketball team dropped the final three games of the Wichita State Tournament to fall to 8-14 on the season. On Friday night the Fighting Scots dropped a 63-31 decision to Texas-Arlington. Saturday the Scots lost to Missouri 55-31 and Wisconsin-Whitewater 72-43.
Texas-Arlington 63, Edinboro 31The Fighting Scots fell behind 30-19 at the half and then saw Texas-Arlington shoot 64.0 percent from the floor in the second half (16-of-25). Edinboro, meanwhile, made just 6-of-20 shots while being outscored 33-13. For the game Texas-Arlington was at 54.9 percent (28-iof-51) while Edinboro was 34.9 percent (15-of-43). The Fighting Scots also committed 15 turnovers. Isasaih moore paced Edinboro with 10 points while
Ayuba Alli had nine points and
Mike Adams eight.
Blake Rush handed out five assists.
Missouri 55, Edinboro 31The Fighting Scots trailed just 22-17 at the half but the Tigers owned the second half 33-14. Edinboro made 7-of-22 shots (31.8 pct.) while Missouri came in at 57.7 pct. (15-of-26). Edinboro also was dominated on the glass 33-15.
David Hix made 5-of-6 field goals to lead the Scots, with
Isaiah Moore adding eight points and a team-high five rebounds.
Wisconsin-Whitewater 72, Edinboro 43Once again the second half proved to be the Fighting Scots undoing. After trailing just 30-21 at the half they were outscored 42-222 over the final twenty minutes. Whitewater sizzled from the floor during that period at 67.9 percent (19-of-28) while the Scots were just 9-for-25.
Mike Adams dropped in a game-high 19 points, making 8-of-21 shots, while dishing out five assists.
Ayuba Alli made 6-of-16 shots, including a pair of 3-pointers, to total 15 points.
