Box Score (New/Sortable Format) SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. (October 6, 2015) – The Edinboro University volleyball team came away with an impressive road victory over hosting Slippery Rock in straight sets to improve to 17-2 overall and 6-1 in PSAC play for the season. The Fighting Scots put Slippery Rock away in straight sets by scores of 25-22, 25-8 and 25-14. The victory marks the fourth straight win for Edinboro over Slippery Rock, dating back to 2013.
Junior
Victoria Severo led the Fighting Scots offense with a 11 kills and an outstanding .643 hitting percentage. Senior
Latoya Hutchinson recorded ten kills in the match, while also leading the defense with a block solo. Reigning PSAC West Volleyball Athlete of the Week
Challen Litwiler contributed seven kills and nine digs in the affair. Freshman
Megan Screptock also contributed seven kills, while posting a career-high .538 hitting percentage.
Senior
Marah Maycock led the Edinboro defense with 11 digs in the match.
Sophomore
Sydney Trathen entered the contest needing 34 assists to enter ninth place all-time in the Edinboro record books. Trathen picked up 30 assists, falling four short, but she will have the opportunity to achieve the milestone this weekend in front of a homecoming crowd.
The Fighting Scots will be in homecoming action this weekend. On Friday, October 9 at 7 p.m. the Fighting Scots host Gannon. On Saturday, October 10 at 7 p.m. the Fighting Scots take on visiting Mercyhurst. The homecoming games will take place in McComb Fieldhouse.
