The Fighting Scots will host a pair of local PSAC rivals this weekend, while looking to celebrate homecoming. Gannon visits McComb Fieldhouse on Friday, October 9 at 7.p. in a battle for first place in the PSAC West. On Saturday, October 10 at 7 p.m. the Fighting Scots take on Mercyhurst in McComb Fieldhouse.
Gannon enters Friday's contest boasting a 13-3 overall record, also with a 6-1 mark in PSAC play. The Golden Knights bring a six-game winning streak to McComb Fieldhouse. Like the Fighting Scots, the Golden Knights lone PSAC loss came against PSAC East leading Pitt-Johnstown.
Mercyhurst comes into Saturday's match with a 9-9 overall record and a 4-3 record in PSAC action. The Lakers have won seven of their last ten contests.
The Edinboro offense is led by several players at the top of the PSAC leaderboards. Sophomore and reigning PSAC West Volleyball Athlete of the Week
Challen Litwiler leads the PSAC with 278 kills. Litwiler is also tied for first in service aces with Gannon's Morgan Walters at 36. Junior
Victoria Severo ranks third in the PSAC with a team-high .365 hitting percentage. Severo also ranks second on the team with 172 kills and ranks seventh in the PSAC in total blocks with a squad leading 59. Sophomore
Sydney Trathen enters the weekend atop the assists leaderboard with 699.
Trathen needs just five assists to Claudia Rech on the all-time school leaderboards for ninth place. Rech recorded 1,542 assists during her time at Edinboro from 1998-2000.
Jen Gruber, Edinboro's kill leader from 2014, has missed the previous 6 matches with an injury.
