GAME STORYThe Edinboro University women's basketball team will host a pair of PSAC East opponents this weekend. The Fighting Scots are riding a three-game winning streak to begin the season. Edinboro defeated Slippery Rock this past Wednesday, 83-66, to improve to 3-0 overall and 1-0 in the PSAC West.
On Saturday, November 21, the Fighting Scots take on Kutztown in a 1 p.m. tipoff. The Golden Bears enter the weekend 1-0 after opening up their 2015-16 campaign with an 84-58 win over Cheyney on Wednesday.
On Sunday, November 22, Edinboro takes on Mansfield at 1 p.m. The Mountaineers also enter the weekend 1-0 after defeating Millersville, 72-67, in their season opener on Wednesday. Mansfield will play Slippery Rock on Saturday in a 1 p.m. tipoff.

Swank is in his 29
th season as the head coach at Edinboro and ranks as the all-time winningest coach in PSAC history and is also the longest tenured. He owns a career record of 516-283 at Edinboro, and over the last five years Edinboro has a 125-27 record. The Fighting Scots seek their seventh straight PSAC Tournament appearance and have won three PSAC championships during that span, the last coming in 2014. He enters the 2015-16 season tied for 12
th among active Division II coaches in victories. That figure is tied for 24
th all-time in overall victories. He ranks 35
th in career winning percentage (.645). Edinboro finished with a 20-8 record a year ago, the fifth straight season with 20-or-more wins and the 11
th in Swank's career. He guided the Fighting Scots to a 16-6 record in the PSAC West, good for fourth place. Edinboro defeated Seton Hill, 68-53, in the first round of the PSAC Tournament before suffering a 71-63 loss to Indiana(Pa.) in the quarterfinals. The Fighting Scots qualified for the PSAC Tournament for the sixth straight year and 11th time in the last 12 years.
PLAYERS TO WATCHAignee' Freeland (F, 6'3", Sr.) – A two-time All-PSAC selection, Freeland has picked up right where she left off last season. In three, she leads the Fighting Scots with 21.0 ppg. and 8.3 rpg. In the win over Slippery Rock earlier this week, Freeland scored 18 points, including 16 in the first half, to help Edinboro lead from start to finish. In the win over Charleston to open the season, she posted a double-double with 23 points and 10 boards. Freeland has moved into 24
th place on the all-time scoring list with 1,136 career points.
Lauren Hippo (G, 5'10", Sr.) – the 5'10" senior averaged 13.4 ppg and 4.0 rpg a year ago. Hippo is one of the top 3-point threats in the PSAC, and began her senior season shooting 33.3 percent (8-of-24) from beyond the arc. In the win over Slippery Rock, Hippo moved into eighth all-time with 132 3-pointers. She totaled 15 points and dished out five assists in the win. Hippo opened the 2015-16 campaign with an 18-point, performance against Charleston. Hippo is ranked first at Edinboro in career 3-point field goal percentage (44.7 pct.) and ninth in career 3-pointers made (132), along with 11
th in career 3-pointers attempted (299)
Maggie Moore (F, 6'2", Jr.) – Moore is off to a fast start in 2015-16, picking up a double-double in two of her first three games. She totaled 10 points and 11 rebounds in the win over Slippery Rock this past Wednesday and opened the season with 15 points and 11 boards in the win over Charleston.
Katie Fischer (G, 5'7", Jr.) – the transfer from Mercyhurst is off to an impressive start in her first season as a Fighting Scot. Fischer has recorded double-doubles in two of the first three games. In the opening weekend of the season, she totaled 12 points and 11 assists against Charleston and 11 points with 10 rebounds against West Virginia State. In the win over Slippery Rock, Fischer led Edinboro with a team-high 26 points on 10-of-17 shooting, including 4-of-9 3-pointers. She also added seven rebounds and seven assists.

nd season at Kutztown, where she is the winningest coach in school history with a record of 313-265. The Golden Bears have reached the PSAC Tournament in six of the last seven years. Senior Natalya Lee is the only returner to have started all 28 games for KU last season. She averaged 9.9 points, 4.6 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game. Junior forward Kelsey Watson is expected to be a major contributor this season after averaging 10.0 points and 6.4 rebounds per game last season. Lee opened the season scoring 21 points on 7-of-15 shooting, while Watson totaled 18 points and grabbed eight boards.

Lauren Hippo's second straight 20-point performance, the Fighting Scots won their sixth game in a row to improve to 9-3 overall and 6-2 in the PSAC. Edinboro scored 12 unanswered points in the final 3:08 of the first half to take a 42-26 lead into halftime. After the Golden Bears closed the gap to just six, the Fighting Scots answered with a 10-0 run to regain a double digit lead, 66-50. The lead would never be fewer than 10 as Edinboro held on to win, 81-69. Three Fighting Scots scored in double-digits in the contest, including Hippo (20),
Laurel Lindsay (20) and
Aignee' Freeland (12). Freeland picked up 10 rebounds to complete the double-double.
Hope Mancini added nine points off the bench, including two 3-pointers.

Head coach Alison Tagliaferri is in her fourth season at the helm of the program after serving as the interim head coach during the 2012-13 season. The Mountaineer's all-time leading scorer, Tagliaferri was a member of Mansfield's first PSAC playoff team in 2006. Mansfield returns its top four scorers from last season in Katie Fitzpatrick (13.0 ppg), Brielle Kelly (10.7 ppg), Tianna Jackson (8.7 ppg), and Becky Evans (7.7 ppg). The Mountaineers also welcome back Megan McSwain, who sat out last season with injury after starting 21 games and averaging 10.1 points a game in 2013-14. Fitzpatrick opened the season with 28 points and six rebounds, while Evans added 18 points with three 3-pointers.

The Fighting Scots shot 52.2 percent (12-of-23) from beyond the arc as they won their seventh straight contest to improve to 10-3 overall and 7-2 in the PSAC West.
Valerie Majewski led the scoring for Edinboro with 22 points on 9-of-13 shooting. The Fighting Scots took a 41-23 lead into half, holding Mansfield to just 25.9 percent (7-of-27) shooting from the field. Majewski scored the first eight points of the second half and Edinboro never looked back from there, leading by as many as 42 points in the win. The win was Edinboro's sixth straight over the Mountaineers.
Hope Mancini scored 19 points off the bench, shooting 5-of-8 from three.
Aignee' Freeland was the leading rebounder for the Scots, pulling down 12 boards.
