EDINBORO, Pa. (November 9, 2015) - The Edinboro University volleyball team will be looking to celebrate a victory one last time at home during the regular season when they host Ursuline on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. in McComb Fieldhouse. The Fighting Scots enter Tuesday's contest at 28-4 overall and 17-3 in the PSAC West, while Ursuline comes in at 8-22 overall and 3-7 in the GMAC.
The first place Fighting Scots enter the contest having lost consecutive games for the first time this year, but they have yet to drop a game at home this season.
The Edinboro offense is led offensively by a trio of players with over 200 kills. Sophomore
Challen Litwiler leads all attackers with 423 kills, while juniors
Victoria Severo and
Latoya Hutchinson totaled 299 and 211, respectively. Unfortunately Hutchinson has missed the last couple games with an injury. Sophomore
Sydney Trathen paces the Fighting Scots attack with 1,120 assists. In addition, Trathen has contributed 133 kills and totaled a .320 hitting percentage from her setter position. Senior
Marah Maycock has totaled 43 service aces this season, increasing her career total to 148, the sixth most all-time.
Maycock leads the Fighting Scots defensively with 521 digs. Earlier this season, she entered fifth place all-time with 1,560 career digs. Litwiler ranks second on the squad with 394 digs. Severo is also making her presence felt defensively, totaling a team-high 93 blocks. Hutchinson and Trathen are tied for the team lead with 15 block solos apiece.
