The Fighting Scots come off a 64-42 win on the road at Mercyhurst on Tuesday to improve to 7-2 overall and 3-1 in the PSAC West. Edinboro has won three straight games and four of the last five.
Michelle Jahn continues to emerge as one of the most dangerous 3-pt threats in the PSAC, leading the conference with a 58.3 percent (21-of-36) 3-pt. percentage. Jahn ranks 19
th in the nation in 3-pt. percentage. She is a two-time PSAC West Freshman of the Week honoree.
East Stroudsburg enters the contest at 1-6 overall and 0-4 in the PSAC East. The Warriors are coming off a 73-52 loss to Bloomsburg on Tuesday evening. Edinboro has dominated the all-time series, winning the past 14 contests and having lost just once back in 1981.
West Chester brings a 4-3 overall record and a 2-2 mark in the PSAC East into the weekend. The Golden Rams are fresh off an 85-72 defeat against Shippensburg and will take on Slippery Rock on Friday before meeting Edinboro the following afternoon. The Fighting Scots have won seven of the last eight meetings with the Golden Rams.

A productive bench and aggressive defense led the Fighting Scots to a 66-56 win over East Stroudsburg in McComb Fieldhouse. The Edinboro bench outscored the Warriors' bench 22-3, and the Fighting Scots forced 29 turnovers while committing only 13. Leading by just six points with 13:18 left to play, the Fighting Scots went on a 17-2 run to take a 55-34 lead with seven minutes remaining and held on to win.
Aignee' Freeland led Edinboro with 16 points and grabbed nine rebounds.
Nicole Johnson totaled 12 points on 5-of-8 shooting while Katie Collins had 10 on 4-of-6 shooting.

After falling to West Chester 76-73 in the regular season, Edinboro got their revenge when the two teams met in the PSAC Semifinals later in the year. The Fighting Scots had three 20-point scorers as they defeated the Golden Rams 104-82 to advance to the PSAC Championship.
Lauren Hippo led the Fighting Scots with 29 points on 10-of-18 shooting, including hitting a team-high 5-of-11 3-pointers. Darche' Jackson totaled 21 points on 10-of-12 shooting and
Aignee' Freeland also had 21, going 10-of-14 from the field. Freeland also pulled down 14 rebounds to complete the double-double.
Valerie Majewski also had a double-double, totaling 13 points and dishing out 16 assists.

Swank is in his 29
th season as the head coach at Edinboro and ranks as the all-time winningest coach in PSAC history and is also the longest tenured. He owns a career record of 520-285 at Edinboro, and over the course of the previous five seasons Edinboro has a 125-27 record. The Fighting Scots seek their seventh straight PSAC Tournament appearance and have won three PSAC championships during that span, the last coming in 2014. He entered the 2015-16 season tied for 12
th among active Division II coaches in victories. That figure is tied for 24
th all-time in overall victories. Edinboro finished with a 20-8 record a year ago, the fifth straight season with 20-or-more wins and the 11
th in Swank's career. He guided the Fighting Scots to a 16-6 record in the PSAC West, good for fourth place. Edinboro defeated Seton Hill, 68-53, in the first round of the PSAC Tournament before suffering a 71-63 loss to Indiana(Pa.) in the quarterfinals. The Fighting Scots qualified for the PSAC Tournament for the sixth straight year and 11th time in the last 12 years.
PLAYERS TO WATCHAignee' Freeland (F, 6'3", Sr.) – A two-time All-PSAC selection, Freeland joined the 1,000-point club as a junior, and ranks 17
th in career scoring with 1,218 points and fourth in career rebounds with 786. Freeland leads Edinboro in scoring, averaging 16.1 ppg. on 51.6 percent (63-of-122) shooting and leads the team with 9.1 rpg. She ranks ninth in the PSAC in both categories. In Tuesday's win, Freeland recorded her second straight double-double, and her third overall. She totaled 20 points and 12 rebounds.
Lauren Hippo (G, 5'10", Sr.) – the 5'10" senior is one of the top 3-point threats in the PSAC, and is ranked first at Edinboro in career 3-point field goal percentage (44.7 pct.) and sixth in career 3-pointers made (142), along with tenth in career 3-pointers attempted (331). She is also third in career free throw percentage (79.2 pct.). Hippo ranks fourth on the team in scoring, averaging 11.7 ppg. and third in 3-point percentage (33.9 pct.). She also ranks fourth on the team with 4.3 rpg.
Katie Fischer (G, 5'7", Jr.) – the transfer from Mercyhurst is in her first season at Edinboro and is off to an impressive start as a Fighting Scot. Fischer ranks second on the team in scoring, averaging 15.2 ppg. and leads the PSAC with 6.8 apg. She also ranks second on the squad with a 38.2 percent (21-of-55) 3-point percentage. Against her former team, Fischer totaled 11 points and dished out six assists.
Michelle Jahn (G, 5'8", Fr.) – the two-time PSAC West Freshman of the Week from nearby General McLane High School has emerged as an extremely dangerous 3-point threat. Jahn leads the team and the PSAC with a 58.3 (21-of-36) 3-point percentage. Her 58.3 percent 3-pt. percentage ranks 19
th in the nation. She ranks third on the team in scoring, averaging 13.1 ppg. on 54 percent (34-of-63) shooting. In Tuesday's win, Jahn continued to show her precision from beyond the arc, hitting 4-of-5 3-pointers. Jahn led the Fighting Scots with 22 points and shot 9-of-11 from the field.
PROBABLE STARTERSOFF THE BENCHSCOUTING THE WARRIORSEast Stroudsburg has gotten off to a sluggish start in 2015-16, struggling out of the gate. The Warriors dropped their first four games of the season before earning their first victory last weekend against Chestnut Hill in the Pocono Classic. East Stroudsburg comes into this weekend's action at just 1-6 and still in search of their first conference win.
Junior Allison Howard leads the Warriors in scoring, averaging 14.4 ppg. Michelle Boggs, a 6-1 senior, is the team's leading rebounder, pulling down 6.9 rpg. Boggs also leads the PSAC averaging 2.3 blocks per game.

Diane Decker was named the head coach for the Warriors prior to the beginning of this season. Decker served as an interim head coach for East Stroudsburg in 2007-08, compiling a 12-15 record and qualifying for the PSAC Tournament. Prior to her hiring at East Stroudsburg, Decker was an assistant coach for Bloomsburg for seven seasons and helped the Huskies to five PSAC East regular season titles, one PSAC Tournament title and four NCAA Division II Tournament appearances.

SCOUTING THE GOLDEN RAMSThe PSAC East preseason favorites, West Chester is off to just a 4-3 start and have a 2-2 record in conference play after dropping games to Pitt-Johnstown and Shippensburg. The Golden Rams returned eight seniors this year, including two 1,000-point scorers in guard Brittany Siciniski and forward Dallas Ely. West Chester starts an all-senior lineup, three of which average in double figures this season.
Sicinski is the Golden Rams leading scorer with 15.6 pg. Ely and Anna Kuntz average 14.7 and 10.1 ppg., respectively. Kuntz ranks fifth in the PSAC averaging 1.4 bpg. and Jasmin Clark is also fifth in the PSAC averaging 2.3 spg.

Kiera Wooden is in her second season at the helm of the West Chester women's basketball program. In her first season as head coach, Wooden guided the Golden Rams to a 24-6 record and an appearance in the PSAC Championship Game, as well as a NCAA Tournament bid. Wooden served as an assistant coach on the Golden Rams' staff for 10 years and upon her promotion, became the first African-American female head coach at West Chester.
