STORYLINEBoth Edinboro (17-6, 14-5 PSAC West) and IUP (20-2, 17-2) have clinched PSAC playoff berths and are now battling for playoff position. IUP is currently second behind California (Pa.) and in line for one of two first-round byes. The Fighting Scots face an uphill battle to break into the top two and must win today to have any chance. The Fighting Scots can finish no lower than fourth and are assured of at least hosting a first-round playoff game on February 28. IUP comes in ranked 13th in the latest USA Today Sports Coaches NCAA Division II Poll. Both of the Crimson Hawk's losses have come to Cal. A veteran team whose top seven scorers are either seniors or juniors, IUP has been downright dominant, winning 14 games by 20-or-more points. After a rough patch Edinboro has righted itself with three straight wins, the last two in lopsided fashion over Mercyhurst and Slippery Rock.
Laurel Lindsay has an opportunity to accomplish something today that only two other players in PSAC history have done. She needs six assists to reach 500 for her career and would become the third player with 1,000 points, 500 rebounds, and 500 assists.
