(September 11, 2015) – The Edinboro University volleyball team continued its early season success on day one of the VSU Tournament, hosted by Virginia State. The Fighting Scots posted a 3-1 win over Charleston (WV) on Friday night to improve to 4-1 on the season.
After Charleston picked up a 25-20 victory in the first set to take the early 1-0 lead, the Fighting Scots roared back to win three straight sets by scores of 25-20, 25-21 and 26-24. Sophomore
Challen Litwiler led the Edinboro attack with 18 kills, while
Sydney Trathen controlled the offense with 39 assists.
Marah Maycock led the Fighting Scots on the defensive side of the ball with 13 digs.
Edinboro will begin the second day of the tournament taking on West Virginia State (2-1) at 1:30 p.m. before wrapping up the weekend against Glenville State (1-2) at 4 p.m.
