(September 18, 2015) – The Edinboro University volleyball team defeated West Virginia State in the opening match of the PSAC-MEC Crossover on Friday night by a score of 3-0 to increase it's winning streak to four games. Edinboro improves to 7-1 overall on the young season, the teams best start since 2011 when they also started out 7-1.
The Fighting Scots cruised to a victory in three sets by scores of 25-14, 25-21 and 25-19. Sophomore
Challen Litwiler led the Edinboro offense with 15 kills in the match, while
Sydney Trathen controlled the attack with 30 assists. The 15 kills pushed Litwiler over 100 so far for the season. Sophomore
Taylor Palowski totaled three service aces in the match.
On the defensive side,
Victoria Severo led the team with one block solo and three block assist, while Palowski and Litwiler each contributed 11 digs, tied for the team-high.
The Fighting Scots are right back in action on Saturday as they face-off with Concord at 12 noon before finishing the PSAC-MEC Crossover, hosted by Gannon, against Ursuline at 2 p.m. at the Hammermill Center.
