th overall, after taking care of Mercyhurst, 61-42, in the first round of the PSAC Tournament on Saturday. The Fighting Scots have won 11 of their last 14 games.
The fourth-seeded Fighting Scots travel to California (Pa.) for a showdown with the top-seed in the Western Division. Edinboro comes into Tuesday's contest at 20-9 overall, the sixth-straight 20-win season and 12
th overall under head coach
Stan Swank.
The Vulcans enter the contest at 21-5 overall and are making their 15
th-straight PSAC Quarterfinals appearance. The Vulcans have rattled off ten straight victories and have won 12 of their last 13 outings, with the lone loss coming against Edinboro in McComb Fieldhouse on January 20. Win number ten in a row was a 83-52 victory over Edinboro on Wednesday, February 24
The winner of Tuesday's contest will face the winner of Millersville vs. Shippensburg on Saturday, March 5, hosted by the highest remaining Western Division seed.
This marks the fourth meeting between Edinboro and Cal in the PSAC Quarterfinals round and the sixth overall meeting in the postseason. Cal holds a 3-2 record in the postseason, but the Fighting Scots have won the past two meetings. The two teams last met in 2012 with Edinboro taking a 77-58 victory in the quarterfinals.
The quarterfinals meeting serves as a rubber match as the two teams split the season series, with both teams winning by double-digits on their home court. In the first contest, Edinboro dominated in the paint, outscoring the Vulcans 40-26 and holding a 44-27 advantage on the glass en route to a 73-54 victory. In the second meeting, Edinboro turned the ball over a season-high 25 times, leading to 30 points for the Vulcans. For the only time this year, the Fighting Scots failed to make a 3-pointer, going 0-for-9 from beyond the arc.
The Fighting Scots average 69.0 ppg., good for sixth in the PSAC, while allowing 63.6 ppg., which ranks seventh. Cal comes into the contest averaging 73.0 ppg., which is second in the PSAC, while allowing just 62.1 ppg., the third-best figure in the conference.
Edinboro was ranked tenth in the most recent NCAA Atlantic Region Rankings, while Cal claimed the third spot.

After holding Edinboro scoreless for over three minutes in the opening quarter, the Vulcans took a 14-10 lead into the second quarter. The Fighting Scots opened the second quarter with a 20-7 run to grab a nine-point lead at 30-21 with four minutes left in the half and took a 37-29 lead into the locker room at halftime. California would close the gap to just three points at 47-44 with 2:48 remaining in the third quarter, but Edinboro closed out the quarter on a 7-2 run and closed out the contest on a 19-2 run to upset the defending national champions.
Aignee' Freeland was one of two Fighting Scots to register a double-double, finishing with 26 points and 13 rebounds.
Katie Fischer totaled 15 points and 11 assists.
Lauren Hippo added a season-high 23 points. Edinboro dominated the glass, holding a 44-27 advantage and limited the PSAC's leading scorer Miki Glenn to 15 points and just two points in the second half.

The Fighting Scots turned the ball over a season-high 25 times and failed to connect on a 3-pointer for the first time this season, going 0-for-9, as they suffered an 83-52 loss at California (Pa.) in the regular season finale. Edinboro committed seven turnovers in the first quarter as the Vulcans jumped out to a 23-11 lead which grew to 38-25 by halftime. The mistakes continued in the second half as the Fighting Scots turned the ball over another 12 times and went just 1-of-8 from the foul line. The Cal lead grew to as many as 31 points in the fourth quarter as Edinboro was outscored 23-8 in the final period.
Aignee' Freeland led a pair of double-figure scorers with 25 points, while
Katie Fischer added 10. Miki Glenn led a trio of Vulcans in double-figures with 19 points and added seven assists. Seairra Barrett recorded a double-double, totaling 18 points and 12 boards. Shatara Parsons added 17 points.

FULL RECAP LAST TIME OUTFebruary 27, 2016 – at Edinboro 61, Mercyhurst 41 (PSAC Tournament First Round)The Fighting Scots got off to a fast start, jumping out to a 25-9 lead in the first quarter, to coast to a first round victory over the Lakers. After Mercyhurst opened the game with a 5-2 lead less than two minutes into the contest, Edinboro ended the opening period on a 17-2 run, including hitting five consecutive 3-pointers. The Fighting Scots built the lead to 37-17 at halftime, shooting 60.0 percent from the floor, including hitting 7-of-12 3-pointers. The Lakers never got closer than 17 the rest of the way as the Edinboro lead grew to as many as 24 points.

th season as the head coach at Edinboro and ranks as the all-time winningest coach in PSAC history and is also the longest tenured. He owns a career record of 533-292 at Edinboro, and over the previous five seasons Edinboro had a 125-27 record. The Fighting Scots are making their seventh consecutive PSAC Tournament appearance and have won three PSAC championships during that five-year span, the last coming in 2014. Swank entered the 2015-16 season tied for 12
th among active Division II coaches in victories. That figure is tied for 24
th all-time in overall victories. He ranks 35

She led the Vulcans to a 2015 NCAA National Championship victory, their first since 2006. Strom already ranks third in school history in career victories with 107 and has never recorded a season with less than 17 wins. Strom is a former four-year starter at Penn State, earning three All-Big Ten selections and joining the 1,000-point club.

The senior forward ranks sixth on Edinboro's all-time scoring list with 1,547 career points. She is also third all-time in career rebounds with 942 boards. Heather Gates (1,301) and Montique Wade (1,113) rank first and second, respectively. Freeland is also fifth all-time in career blocks with 139. The 6'3'' forward is third in the PSAC with 55 blocks this season, the 12
th-most in single-season history. She also ranks fifth in the PSAC in scoring (16.6 ppg.) and ninth in rebounding (8.1 rpg.). Freeland has recorded nine double-doubles this season, good for fifth in the PSAC and ten 20-point outings.
Lauren Hippo (G, 5'10", Sr.) – the 5'10" senior recorded her 1,000
th career point at Gannon in early February, joining fellow senior

th on the all-time scoring list at 1,077 points and ranks among the top all-time 3-point shooters in Edinboro history. Hippo is ranked third all-time in 3-point percentage at 38.9 percent, fifth in career 3-pointers made (178) and fifth in career 3-pointers attempted (458). Hippo is fourth on the team in scoring at 11.5 ppg. and third on the team in rebounding, averaging a career-high 5.0 rpg. Hippo has attempted 177 3-pointers this season, the seventh most in a single-season. Hippo was recently named a CoSIDA Academic All-District selection.
Katie Fischer (G, 5'7", Jr.) – the transfer from Mercyhurst is in her first season at Edinboro and continues her impressive season as a Fighting Scot, leading the PSAC and ranking sixth in Division II with 6.4 assists per game. She ranks fourth in the nation with 187 total assists, the seventh-most in single-season history. Fischer is second on the team in scoring at 15.9 ppg., good for ninth in the PSAC. Fischer has recorded five double-digit assist games this season and posted six double-doubles.
Michelle Jahn (G, 5'8'', Fr.) – the six-time PSAC West Freshman of the Week has proven to be one of the most dangerous 3-point threats in the conference. The General McLane High School product ranks third in the PSAC with a 40.4 3-pt. percentage, the tenth-highest in season history, and third with 64 3-point field goals. Jahn's 64 3-pointers are the sixth-most in single-season history. Jahn is third on the team averaging 12.2 ppg. and has scored in double figures in eight of the past ten contests, while recording a 3-point field goal in all but five games this season.
