EDINBORO, Pa. (April 15, 2016) – The Edinboro University women's lacrosse team hits the road on Saturday, April 16 for a road PSAC contest at Shippensburg at 1:00 p.m. The Fighting Scots, who are 6-8 overall and 1-8 in the PSAC, look to snap a two-match losing streak, while handing the Raiders their tenth straight defeat. Shippensburg is 3-10 with a 0-9 PSAC mark.
After defeating Wheeling Jesuit, 11-8, on April 5, Edinboro dropped a pair of PSAC contests to Millersville, 16-8, and 16th-ranked Indiana (Pa.), 15-12. The Fighting Scots trailed the Crimson Hawks by as much as eight goals in the second half before scoring six of the last seven goals to close out the match. Caitlin Formato's team has played a conference opponent who was ranked nationally by the IWLCA. That stretch included a 15-7 defeat to sixth-ranked Lock Haven, a 12-9 loss to seventh-ranked Mercyhurst, and a 15-13 victory over 18th-ranked Seton Hill, their first ever win against a ranked opponent.
The Fighting Scots defeated the Raiders in last year's matchup by a 16-9 score.
Alexa Healy netted a career-high seven goals, which is tied for second all-time in one contest. Martin collected eight points on eight assists, with the points ranking tied for fourth all-time.

Anna Purdy is the Fighting Scots' leading scorer and is tenth in the PSAC with 53 points on 32 goals and 21 assists. She is second all-time in career points (152) and career assists (58). She and junior midfielder

Rebecca Martin is second with 50 points on 23 goals and 27 assists. She has 203 career points on 74 goals and 129 assists.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Paige Skinner is 5-7 in goal, leading the PSAC in saves per game (9.36) and ranking second in saves percentage (.500).
Shippensburg returns home after suffering a pair of PSAC road defeats to Seton Hill, 15-8, and West Chester, 16-4, that extended their losing streak to nine matches. The Raiders began the year at 3-1, with their last win coming in a 15-6 showing against West Virginia Wesleyan on March 12. They hold a 4-2 all-time series lead over the Fighting Scots.
Junior attacker Amanda Frank leads the Raiders with 24 points on 15 goals and nine assists. Fellow junior attacker Ali Harclerode is second with 23 points on 18 goals and five assists. Senior goalie Ally Frymoyer has started all 13 matches, holding a .398 save percentage and a 13.69 goals against average.
