Boro Falls to Wisconsin-Whitewater, Missouri on Final Day of Wichita State Tournament

WICHITA, Kan. (January 15, 2017) – The Edinboro University wheelchair basketball team concluded the second and final day of the Wichita State Tournament Saturday with hard-fought contests against Wisconsin-Whitewater, the defending NWBA Intercollegiate Division Champions, and Missouri. The Fighting Scots fell to the Warhawks, 60-41, and to Missouri by a 48-43 decision. Edinboro finished the tournament with a 3-2 record after winning all three of its games Friday.
 
WISCONSIN-WHITEWATER 60, EDINBORO 41
Edinboro shot 35.3 percent for the game (18-for-51), while Wisconsin-Whitewater connected on 54.0 percent of their shots (27-for-50). The Warhawks held a 40-21 lead at halftime and finished with a 32-26 advantage in rebounds. Chayse Wolf (12 pts., 10 reb.) and Ayuba Alli (12 pts., 10 ast.) each had double-doubles, with Alli connecting on 2-of-4 3-pointers. Kevin Atherley added nine points with eight boards.
 
MISSOURI 48, EDINBORO 43
Edinboro led in rebounds, 36-20, with Kevin Atherley alone outrebounding Missouri with 21 boards. He led the Fighting Scots with 18 points, making 8-of-13 shots from the field. The Fighting Scots led, 23-20, at halftime, but the Tigers shot 50.0 percent from the field in the second half (12-for-24) to pull out the win. Missouri's Marshall Linsdey led the way with 23 points, with James Bohnett connecting for 16 points. Ayuba Alli tallied 11 points for Edinboro, while Chayse Wolf had eight markers.
