BREAKING DOWN THE GAME
  • Edinboro jumped out to a 28-0 lead after just one quarter. The Fighting Scots took the opening kickoff and drove 65 yards on 11 plays to take a 7-0 lead with 11:25 left in the first quarter. Jake Sisson and Ta'Nauz Gregory combined on the first of their three touchdown passes, this one covering 12 yards after Edinboro converted three times on third down in the drive, all by Kyle Galyk. Galyk was in for Walter Fletcher, who suffered an injury early in the series.
  • Following a three-and-out by Cheyney, Edinboro needed just five plays to cover 40 yards. Fletcher returned and carried three times for 33 yards before Sisson found Ryan Stratton open over the middle for a seven-yard touchdown pass. It was the first career touchdown reception for the senior tight end. Edinboro led 14-0 with 8:36 left in the period.
  • Fletcher accounted for the third score of the quarter when he burst 51 yards for his 17th rushing touchdown of the year on the very first play after a Cheyney punt. Edinboro led 21-0 with 7:07 to play in the quarter.
  • DeVon Groves made it 28-0 with 4:25 still remaining in the first quarter as the senior safety made a beautiful one-handed interception and returned the pickoff of Dominick Trautz 65 yards for a touchdown. It was the first six-pointer of his career.
  • Edinboro would tack on two more touchdowns, both on extended drives, in the second quarter to go ahead 42-0 at halftime. The first was a 10-play, 73-yard march culminated by a Sisson-to-Gregory connection for a 19-yard touchdown. Sisson was featured on the drive, as he completed five passes for 60 yards. The score made it 35-0 with 7:40 left in the second quarter.
  • A trick play capped a 14-play, 89-yard march to end the second quarter. The long drive came after the defense came up with a stop deep inside Edinboro territory when Maurice Sims intercepted a Chad Palmer pass at the EU 11. Fletcher carried the first four plays for 24 yards, then Sisson took over. He would throw passes on 10 of the next 11 plays. Facing a 3rd-and-10 at the Cheyney 15 with less than 30 seconds left in the half, the Fighting Scots executed the hook-and-ladder play to perfection. Clark hauled in a pass from Sisson, then pitched it to a trailing Trey Staunch. The offensive tackle gathered in the pitch and went the final ten yards for his first career touchdown with just nine seconds remaining in the half.
  • The Fighting Scots built the lead to 56-0 after three quarters on a pair of short drives. Fletcher scored his 18th TD rushing of the season and 21st overall when he went 46 yards for a touchdown with 13:06 left in the third quarter to cap a 2-play, 48-yard drive.
  • Sims put the Fighting Scots back in scoring position when he recorded his second interception of the day and returned it 22 yards to the Cheyney 34. Eight plays later, the Fighting Scots were in the end zone for the eight time on Sisson's third TD pass to Gregory, this one covering nine yards with 8:05 to play in the period.
  • Galyk accounted for Edinboro's final score of the game on the first play of the fourth quarter. The redshirt sophomore went 41 yards to make it 63-0 with 14:50 to play.
