TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Edinboro wheelchair basketball team split a pair of games in the first day of competition at the Univ. of Alabama Collegiate Classic. The host Crimson Tide handed Edinboro a 65-37 defeat in their opening contest, but the Fighting Scots came back to defeat Missouri, 45-32, in the afternoon. Coach

In the opener, Alabama jumped out to a 36-14 halftime lead on their way to the 65-37 win. Edinboro struggled from the floor, making just 27.9 percent (17-oof-61), while Alabama shot 50.8 percent (30-of-59). The Crimson Tide controlled the glass, 45-20.
Ayuba Alli was the only player to reach double figures for Edinboro, finishing with 13 points and six assists.
Chayse Wolf added nine points and six rebounds.
In the nightcap, Edinboro turned in a strong defensive effort, holding Missouri to 26.4 percent from the floor (14-of-53) to post a 45-32 victory. The Fighting Scots shot 42.3 percent from the floor (22-of-52) and held a 30-26 rebounding advantage.
???????Edinboro led 23-15 at the half, and bumped the lead up to double figures the final 15 minutes. The Scots would lead by as many as 17 points. Wolf paced the victory with 18 points and 12 rebounds, making 9-of-16 field goals.
Kevin Atherley added 10 points, eight rebounds, and six assists.
???????Edinboro will wrap up the regular season with a pair of games on Saturday. The Fighting Scots face Auburn at 10 a.m., then play Texas-Arlington at 12 noon.
