EDINBORO, Pa. – The Edinboro University wheelchair basketball team dropped three hotly contested contests on Saturday in the final day of the Boro Intercollegiate Tournament. The Fighting Scots opened the day with a 44-31 loss against Missouri before falling by just one point to the same Missouri squad, 38-37, later in the afternoon. Edinboro finished the day dropping a 43-38 decision to Illinois in the final game of the tournament. Head coach

Mike Adams led the Fighting Scots offense in the opening contest, totaling 16 points.
Kevin Atherley added seven points and pulled down a team-high 11 rebounds. Atherley also dished out five assists and picked up four steals.
The Fighting Scots were unable to overcome a rebounding deficit of 36-22 and a cold shooting performance, finishing 27.7 percent (13-of-47) from the field.
In the second contest of the day, the Fighting Scots nearly avenged their opening loss to Missouri. Trailing by five points at 38-33 with 1:20 remaining, Atherley drilled a jumper to cut the deficit to 38-35. Shortly after,
Chayse Wolf hit a jumper to cut the lead to just one point at 38-37 with 27 seconds remaining. The Fighting Scots were forced to foul and Missouri missed a pair of free throws to give Edinboro a final chance to win, but the comeback came up just short.
Atherley led the Fighting Scots with a double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds. Adams added nine points and a game-high seven assists while Wolf added eight points and 10 boards.
In the tournament's final contest, the Fighting Scots once again saw their valiant last second rally fall short. Trailing by seven points at 41-34 with just over two minutes remaining, the Fighting Scots scored the next four points to cut the lead to just three with 1:32 remaining. Forced to foul once again, Illinois missed their free throws and gave Edinboro a last second chance. A 3-pt. attempt to tie couldn't find the bottom of the net as Illinois held on to win.
Wolf led the Fighting Scots with 14 points on 7-of-14 shooting. Atherley join him in double figures, finishing with 11 points and 11 rebounds for his second consecutive double-double.
Ayuba Alli added five points and five rebounds and dished out four assists. Adams picked up eight assists in the contest.
The Fighting Scots return to action participating in the two-day Illinois tournament. Action is set to being on Friday, February 17 and conclude on Saturday, February 18.
