Fighting Scots Open Season with Three Straight Wins in Boro Shootout

The Fighting Scots got the season off to a great start with three wins. Head coach Jim Glatch's team opened with a 70-25 win over Sportable, followed by a 60-27 triumph over Brooklyn. They wrapped up the day with a 59-36 win over Charlottesville.
Day two of the Boro Shootout gets underway on Sunday at 9:00 a.m. at McComb Fieldhouse.

EDINBORO 70, SPORTABLE 25
The Fighting Scots had three players in double figures while shooting a sizzling 56.7 percent from the floor (34-of-57). They limited Sportable to 19.6 percent (11-of-56) while dominating the glass, 49-16. Jacob Spillers came off the bench to score 22 points in his first game as a Fighting Scot, making 11-of-18 field goal attempts. He added 7 rebounds. Chayse Wolf finished with 15 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists, with Cor'Rales Dupree contributing 14 points and 8 boards. The two combined to make 14-of-19 shots. Kevin Atherly, meanwhile, fell a basket shy of a triple-double. He had 11 rebounds, 10 assists, and 8 points.

EDINBORO 60, BROOKLYN 27
The Fighting Scots were even hotter against Brooklyn, dropping in 27-of-46 shots (60.0 percent). Brooklyn, meanwhile, came in at 29.5 percent (13-of-44). Edinboro jumped out to a 32-12 lead at the half. Wolf led four players in double digits with 15 points. Spillers made 6-of-9 shots and ended the day with 13 points, while Cor'Rales Dupree had 11 markers, along with a team-high 9 rebounds. Atherley added 10 points and 6 rebounds.

EDINBORO 59, CHARLOTTESVILLE 36
In a common them on the day, the Fighting Scots shot 58.6 percent from the floor (28-of-55), while limiting Charlottesville to 34.6 percent (18-of-52). They enjoyed another fast start, jumping to a 36-14 halftime lead. Atherley led the way with 17 points, adding 9 rebounds and 5 assists while enjoying a perfect shooting game. He made 8-of-8 field goals and his lone free throw attempt. Spillers made it three straight games in double figures with 12 points. Wolf added 11 points.
