Wolf Paces Fighting Scots in Day Two of Wisconsin-Whitewater Tournament

WHITEWATER, Wisc. --   Edinboro wrapped up the two-day Wisconsin-Whitewater Tournament with an impressive 67-50 win over Nebraska-Omaha. Earlier in the day the Fighting Scots suffered a 54-29 loss to Alabama. Edinboro improved to 5-3 with the win.

ALABAMA 54, EDINBORO 29

Josiah Knight finished with 17 points, but the Fighting Scots were unable to come up with much more offense.  They found themselves in a 36-10 hole at the half, but would come back to outscore the Crimson Tide 19-18 in the second half. The first half featured a run of 17 straight points for Alabama. Knight added nine rebounds. Chayse Wolf finished with eight points and four assists. Ignacio Ortega posted a double-double for the Tide with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Alabama shot 43.9 percent from the floor (25-of-57) while Edinboro came in at 28.3 percent (13-of-46).

EDINBORO 67, NEBRASKA-OMAHA 50

Chayse Wolf had a huge effort with 26 points, 19 rebounds, and 15 assists to help Edinboro snap a three-game losing streak. Wolfe made 11-of-19 field goals, including 2-of-4 3-pointers, and was 2-of-2 at the line. Josiah Knight added 23 points, making 11-of-21 field goals. Stephanie Glatch was a third Fighting Scot in double digits with 12 points, making 6-of-10 field goals. After struggling with their shooting throughout the tournament, the Fighting Scots found their shooting touch, making 30-of-58 shots. Nebraska-Omaha, meanwhile, was at 40.4 percent (23-of-57). Edinboro jumped out to a 31-20 lead at the half thanks to a 16-4 run midway through the half. Wolf scored eight points in the run, including a three to make its 26-8. The 18-point margin was the largest lead of the half. Nebraska-Omaha scored the first basket of the second half to cut the deficit to 31-22, but the Fighting Scots answered with nine straight points and would eventually build the lead to as much as 24 points.
