Wolf in Double Figures Both Games of Illinois Tournament

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The Edinboro wheelchair basketball suffered a pair of losses in the first day of competition at the University of Illinois Tournament. The Fighting Scots dropped a 60-36 loss to Auburn in the morning, then fell to Wisconsin-Whitewater, 73-33. They are now 5-19.
Edinboro has two more contests on Saturday. They play host Illinois in the morning, then come back with an afternoon game vs. Southwest Minnesota State.

AUBURN 60, EDINBORO 36
The Fighting Scots fell victim to a hot-shooting Auburn team. The Tigers would shoot 52.8 percent from the floor (28-of-53), while Edinboro came in at 31.9 percent (15-of-47). Edinboro jumped out to a 12-6 lead, but Auburn would grab a 27-15 lead at the half as Edinboro made 6-of-21 shots compared to a 13-of-25 showing by the Tigers. The Scots were unable to pull any closer in the final twenty minutes. Chayse Wolf paced Edinboro with 17 points and 15 rebounds, adding five assists. Josiah Knight was also in double digits with 15 points, along with six rebounds. Robert Baez and Stephanie Glatch added a bucket each.

WISCONSIN-WHITEWATER 73, EDINBORO 33
Game number two was unfortunately similar to the first game, as Wisconsin-Whitewater shot 54.8 percent from the floor (34-of-62) while holding Edinboro to 28.6 percent (14-of-49). UWW also held a 36-19 rebounding advantage. UWW jumped out to a 39-17 lead at the half as the Fighting Scots made 8-of-27 shots. Chayse Wolf finished with 13 points, four rebounds, and five assists. Josiah Knight contributed eight points, five rebounds, and five assists.
