The Fighting Scots have clinched an 11th straight PSAC Tournament appearance and come in with a 16-9 overall record and 14-7 in the PSAC West. Seton Hill is still alive for the sixth and final playoff spot in the Western Division, along with Mercyhurst and Slippery Rock. The Griffins are 13-14 overall and 7-14 in the PSAC West. They started the year at 10-1, but come in riding a four-game losing streak.
  • The Fighting Scots will host a first round PSAC Tournament playoff game on Monday, March 2 against an undetermined opponent. Edinboro and Cal are currently tied for third place in the PSAC West with 14-7 records, with Edinboro owning the tiebreaker based on a sweep of the two regular season contests. Cal hosts second seed Gannon on Saturday. The fourth seed will host Pitt-Johnstown, who has locked down the fifth seed.
  • Edinboro celebrated Senior Day on Wednesday, with seniors Abbey Antolic, Michaela Barnes, Bridgette Shaffer, and Cheniya Sharpe recognized prior to the game. All four played a large role in the 86-68 win over Slippery Rock, but the contest became a fitting tribute to the outstanding career of Barnes. For starters, she performed a stirring rendition of the national anthem. Then she went out and broke the career scoring record, and ended the night by shattering her own single-game record. When it was all said and done, she scored 45 points, her third 40-point effort of the season. Barnes now has 1,940 career points, breaking Samantha Reimer's career record (1,926 points).

After scoring 609 points a year ago, the senior guard is the first Edinboro player to score 600 points in a season more than once.  She has been named the PSAC West Athlete of the Week six times this year.

The Fighting Scots came out on fire and never trailed in the game, leading 22-14 after one quarter. Elhusseini accounted for nine points in the quarter on three 3-pointers. The lead would grow to as much as 20 points in the second quarter as Edinboro went on a 13-2 run, with Elhusseini hitting a pair of 3-pointers. Seton Hill would stage a late rally, scoring the final five points, to close to 42-27 at the half. Elhusseini had 17 points at the half, making 5-of-6 3-pointers. Any hopes Seton Hill had of making a game of it vanished at the start of the third quarter, as Edinboro scored the first 11 points of the half. Elhusseini would finish the night with 26 points after having scored 29 points in the previous six games. The diminutive 5'3" guard made 9-of-14 field goals, including 5-of-7 3-pointers, and went 3-of-3 at the line. She added five assists and a pair of steals. HEAD COACH
Callie Wheeler (Edinboro '06) – 36-18, 2nd Year
  • Callie Wheeler was named Edinboro's fifth head coach on May 23, 2018, replacing long-time head coach Stan Swank. The former Edinboro standout served as Swank's assistant coach for the previous 11 years before assuming the head coaching duties. Edinboro enjoyed great success during Wheeler's 11 seasons at Swank's side, posting a 239-86 record in her 11 seasons on the bench. In her first season as head coach, she led Edinboro to a 20-9 record, the ninth straight 20-win campaign. The Fighting Scots made the PSAC Tournament for the tenth straight season and earned a berth in the NCAA Division II Tournament for the second straight year.
  • Wheeler played for the Fighting Scots from 2002-06, and ranks as one of the all-time greatest players in Edinboro history. She became Edinboro's sixth Kodak/WBCA All-American as she earned honorable mention All-American honors. That capped a brilliant senior season in which she was named the PSAC West Athlete of the Year and was a first-team All-PSAC West selection. In addition, she was selected as the Nancy Acker Award winner in 2006. As a senior, the 5'5" guard set a school record with 249 assists. She led the PSAC in both assists and steals, finishing with 95 in the latter category.

Callie joined her father as a member of the Edinboro Hall of Fame in October 2016. Younger sister Mandie was a standout catcher on the softball team, and a two-time All-PSAC West performer.
