Wolf, Speed Honored on Senior Day as Fighting Scots Wrap Up Edinboro Open

EDINBORO, Pa. – The Edinboro wheelchair basketball team wrapped up action in the two-day Edinboro Open on Saturday with a 66-45 loss to Missouri, followed by a 63-33 setback to Illinois. The Fighting Scots are now 5-25 heading into the 43rd Annual NWIBT National Championships on March 19-21 in Wichita, Kansas.
Seniors Chayse Wolf and Will Speed were recognized at halftime of the Illinois game. Both played a tremendous role in the team's success during their careers.  

MISSOURI 66, EDINBORO 45
The Fighting Scots would break out of an offensive slump in the second half against the Tigers, but were unable to post the upset. Edinboro would score 30 points over the final 20 minutes, doubling its first half production. The Scots shot 63.2 percent (12-of-19) after converting 7-of-26 shots (26.9 pct.) in the first half. Edinboro would pull to with 37-29 early in the second half on a basket by Stephanie Glatch, but Missouri proceeded to go on a 12-0 run to open up a 49-29 advantage. Chayse Wolf continued his outstanding season with 20 points (7-of-15 FGs, 5-of-5 FTs) and 9 rebounds, along with 4 assists. Josiah Knight was also in double figures with 11 points, adding 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Will Speed made 3-of-5 shots to finish with 6 points.
 
ILLINOIS 63, EDINBORO 33
Edinboro lost to the Illini for the second day in a row. The Fighting Scots were within striking distance at the half at 36-24, but Illinois would outscore Edinboro, 27-9, over the final 20 minutes. Edinboro would shoot 4-of-26 from the floor after halftime. Chayse Wolf led Edinboro with 14 points, making 4-of-8 3-pointers, while adding 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Josiah Knight added 13 points and a team-high 8 rebounds. Will Speed dished out 5 assists and had 4 rebounds.
