Women’s Basketball Set for Trio of Conference Games

Edinboro, Pa. – The Edinboro women's basketball team returns to McComb Fieldhouse for three PSAC contests starting Thursday with a visit from Bloomsburg University.
 
The Games
The Scots open the three-game homestand with Bloomsburg on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. On Saturday, Edinboro welcomes East Stroudsburg at 1 p.m. and Kutztown visits at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
 
Last Time Out
Edinboro split a pair of conference contests on the road at Lock Haven and Mansfield. The Scots came out with a 59-48 victory over the Bald Eagles and fell 53-46 on Sunday.
 
By the Numbers
The Scots are 3-2 on the season and 1-1 in PSAC play. They average 57.2 points per game and have allowed 64.6.
 
Hayley Sims leads Edinboro in scoring with 17.2 points per game. Ashten Boggs is the Scots leading rebounder at 7.5 per contest.
 
A Helping Hand
Rana Elhusseini dished out a season-high 10 assists in the Scots victory over Lock Haven. It was the first-time a Scot had 10 helpers in a game since Katie Fischer had 10 against Gannon on Jan. 11, 2017.
 
Home Court Advantage
Edinboro is 2-0 on the season inside McComb Fieldhouse. The Scots average 74.5 points per game at home and are forcing opponents into 21.5 turnovers per contest.
 
Scouting the Huskies
Bloomsburg is 4-4- overall and 2-0 in PSAC play. They dropped a 66-60 decision on the road at Jefferson on Saturday.
 
Meghan Corridoni leads the Huskies in scoring with 14.4 points per game. Corridoni is also the leading rebounder at 9.3 per contest. Emma Saxton also averages double-figure scoring with 13.3 points per game.
 
Scouting the Warriors
East Stroudsburg is 0-5 overall and 0-3 in PSAC competition. The Warriors last played on Dec. 4 when they lost to Cal U 69-29.
 
East Stroudsburg is averaging 45.4 points per game while allowing 74.0. Rachel Capua leads the team with 8.7 points per contest. Katie Geisler is the Warrior's leading rebounder at 5.6 per game.
 
Scouting the Golden Bears
Kutztown stands at 8-3 overall and 1-1in the PSAC on the season coming off a 60-55 overtime win over Chestnut Hill. The Golden Bears will take on Slippery Rock on Saturday.
 
Kutztown averages 65.7 points per game and are allowing 59.8. Rylee Derr paces the offense with 14.5 points. Casey Remolde adds 12.9 points per game and a team-leading 6.5 boards per contest.

After the three games this week, the Scots will be off until they make the trip to Clarion on Jan. 5
