Elkins, W.Va. – The Edinboro women's basketball team will hit the road for the first time in 2022-23 when they visit Davis & Elkins on Wednesday.
 
Last Time Out
The Scots defeated Salem University 80-58 on Saturday to move to 2-0 on the young season. Macie Jarrett and Rana Elhusseini each tallied 15 points and five assists to lead the Edinboro attack. Hayley Sims was the Scots leading rebounder with six boards.
 
The Senators are 0-2 after dropping a 79-75 decision to Slippery Rock on Saturday. Taylor Smith was the leading scorer for Davis & Elkins at 20 points. Karlie Denham was the leader on the glass with seven rebounds.
 
Beyond the Arc
The Scots opened the season shooting well from beyond the arc. They are currently 27-61 (.443) from 3-point range and fell just short of the school-record for triples in a game when they made 15 against Notre Dame in the season opener. Hayley Sims has hit 10-of-17 from distance and Rana Elhusseini is 7-of-10 from beyond the arc.
 
Turnovers
Edinboro is winning the turnover battle and are a +7 per game. In two games, 11 different Fighting Scots have recorded a steal and eight of those players have at least two. Rana Elhusseini leads the team with five.
 
A Helping Hand
On 60 made baskets this season, Edinboro has recorded 39 assists. Macie Jarrett and Rana Elhusseini have each tallied 10 helpers on the season.
 
Regional Rankings
The Fighting Scots made a jump in the D2SIDA Atlantic Region rankings moving from 10^th to fourth after a pair of victories over the weekend.
