Wheelchair Basketball Opens Boro Shootout 2-1

Edinboro, Pa. -- The Edinboro wheelchair basketball team got off to a 2-1 start on the first day of the Boro Shootout Saturday at McComb Fieldhouse.

The Scots opened the day with a 54-39 victory over the London Forest City Flyers. Edinboro was up by just one 24-23 at the half, but in the second the half the Scot defense clamped holding the Flyers to just 16 points.

Jeremy Evans led the Scots with 23 points on 10-of-18 shooting to go with seven rebounds. Isaiah Johnson chipped in 12 points and four boards. William Oberg was Edinboro's leading rebounder with 10.

Edinboro picked up a 60-37 victory over the Adaptive Sports Ohio Cavaliers in the day's second game. The Scots posted a balanced attack against the Cavaliers with four different players reaching double-figure scoring. 

Evans was again the leading scorer wtih 18 points as well as five boards. Oberg tallied 14 points and five rebounds. Jeffrey Kurtz turned in 12 points while Johnson notched 10.

In the final game of the day, Edinboro couldn't overcome a slow start falling behind 18-8 at the half. Evans notched eight points to lead the Scots. 

The Scots play twice on Sunday to finish up the Boro Shootout. Edinboro will play Orlando at 11:45 a.m. and the University of Michigan at 1:30 p.m.
