Whitewater, Wisc. – The Edinboro wheelchair basketball team will play three contests against top competition in Whitewater, Wisc. Friday and Saturday.
The Field
The Scots will see a highly competitive field of teams this weekend with the top three teams from last season are on the Edinboro schedule.
"All the teams we play this weekend have players that have already mad a national team, either for the USA or their home country," said head coach
Jim Glatch. "The speed of these games will be faster and more physical. I think for a young team it will help us understand what we need to do next and what we see in video sessions and in practice."
Hot Start
Edinboro is off to an 8-1 start to the season after sweeping a four-game set from the University of Michigan on Nov. 12 & 13.
"This group has been so fun to coach," said Glatch. "Th work ethic and determination to get better by each individual and as a team has been there since day one. If you walked into one of our practices from an attitude perspective you wouldn't know we were 8-1."
Secondary Scoring
Jeremy Evans is the leading scorer for Edinboro at 17.9 points per game.
Isaiah Johnson is next in line at 8.6 points per contest.
"It will be interesting to see how our team reacts if opponents key on Jeremy," said Glatch. "Isaiah and Elijah Have done a nice job stepping up in those situations, but we need couple of the freshman to do the same."
