Women's Basketball Returns from Holiday Break with Trip to Bloomsburg

Bloomsburg, Pa. -- The Edinboro women's basketball team looks to pick up where it left off as the Scots travel to Bloomsburg for a 1 p.m. showdown with the Huskies Friday afternoon.

Last Time Out
The Scots ran their PSAC win streak to three staright after scoring wins over Lock Haven and Mansfield on Dec. 18 & 19. In their most recent contest, Edinboro topped Mansfield 83-63 behind a career-high 22 points from Morgan Gentile. Edinboro turned 31 Mountie turnovers into 37 points as they ran their record to 6-3 overall and 3-1 in PSAC West play.

The Huskies are coming off a 62-48 loss to Slippery Rock on Dec. 19. Kelly Leszcynski was the only Bloomsburg player to reach double-figure scoring picking up 14.

Under Pressure
The Fighting Scots have turned up the pressure on opponents and rank second in Division II in turnovers forced per game at 28.9 and turnover margin with a +12.1. The Scots rank third in the nation in steals per game with 16.2. Rana Elhusseini has led the way also ranking third in the country with 3.44 steals per outing.

Long-Range Shooting
Edinboro ranks first in the PSAC and fourth in Division II in 3-point field goals attempted per game at 30.8. The Scots rank 10th in the nation and atop the PSAC in 3-point field goals made per game at 9.7. Elhusseini and Hayley Sims are tied for third in the PSAC with 2.67 triples per game. 

By the Numbers 
Edinboro averages 79.1 points per game while holding opponents to 66.7. The Scots are getting out-rebounded by 5.3 boards per contest, but make up for it with a 12.1 turnover margin.

Scouting the Huskies
Bloomsburg is averaging 56.5 points per game while allowing 65.5. The Huskies hold a +1 rebounding margin and have a -6.2 turnover margin. Katie Starr leads the team with 8.6 points and 7.0 rebounds per contest. Ella Kale chips in 8.4 points per contest.
