Women’s Basketball Travels to Cal U for PSAC West Showdown

California, Pa. – The Edinboro women's basketball team travels to Cal U for a matchup between two teams currently holding postseason spots in the PSAC West.
 
The Game
Tipoff Saturday is slated for 1 p.m. at the Cal U Convocation Center. The Scots are currently 11-7 overall and 9-6 in PSAC play while the Vulcans check in at 15-4 overall and 10-4 in league play.
 
The First Time They Met
This is the second meeting of the season between these two squads. Edinboro scored a 62-53 victory on Jan. 15. Rana Elhusseini stuffed the stat sheet with 24 points, seven rebounds, five steals and three assists. Haley Sims scored 17 points and pulled down eight rebounds. Brionna Allen led the Vulcans with 17 points while Lauren Bennett and Dejah Terrell each tallied 11 points.
 
Last Time Out
Edinboro swept a home-and-home against Clarion earlier this week winning an 81-65 road contest on Monday and posting a 73-54 victory at McComb on Wednesday. Four different Scots scored in double figures on Monday. Sims tallied 23 points to lead Edinboro on Wednesday.
 
Postseason Picture
With the top six teams in the PSAC West earning spots in the PSAC postseason, both the Vulcans and Scots are in the playoff picture with Cal currently third and Edinboro fifth. Only two games in the loss column separate the Scots from the conference leaders Gannon and Seton Hill. Edinboro has a three-game lead on sixth place UP and a four-game lead on the first team out Slippery Rock.
 
Scouting the Vulcans
Cal U comes in with a 15-4 overall mark and 10-4 record in league play after a 64-59 road victory over IUP on Wednesday. The Vulcans are outscoring opponents 67.7-53.1 on the season. Dejah Terrell leads Cal with 18.7 points per game the second-best mark in the PSAC. She also leads the team with 9.4 rebounds per game. Ciara Lloyd is the team's second leading scorer with 12. 3 points per game.
