Edinboro Pa. -- The Edinboro volleyball team will host Erie rivals Mercyhurst and Gannon this weekend at McComb Fieldhouse. Mercyhurst will arrive on Friday night for a 6 pm start. On Saturday afternoon the match with Gannon will begin at 3 p.m. 

The Fighting Scots 

• Edinboro enters the weekend with a strong (11-3) overall record 

• After opening up PSAC West action last weekend, the Scots earned a win over Slippery Rock and fell to IUP on the road  

• The Scot's (1-1) PSAC West record puts them fourth in the rankings behind IUP, Clarion and top ranked Gannon 

• One of Edinboro's main ingredients that has led to winning is their defense 

• Edinboro ranks third in the PSAC with 94 blocks at 1.92 blocks per set  

• The Scots are also top four in the conference with digs, Edinboro has 781 at a rate of 15.94 digs per set  

• Edinboro has held their opponents to (.133) average hitting percentage which is among the top five in the PSAC 

• Bella Burrelli leads the team with 135 kills (2.76 per set) on the season. 

• Erica Sharp (.361) and Sally Sterkel (.313) are both ranked in the top ten for hitting percentage in the PSAC 

• Alicia Eldredge's team-high 419 assists (8.55 per set) rank among the top five in the conference 

• Sterkel's 47 blocks (0.96 per set) is a team high as well as top five in the PSAC 

• Carly Pry is fourth in the PSAC for digs, her 213 (4.63 per set) is also a team high 

Mercyhurst  

• Mercyhurst is a member of the PSAC West and is led by head coach Ryan Patton 

• The Lakers come into the match with a (2-10) overall record and (0-3) in conference play 

• Mercyhurst has dropped their last five-straight, as their previous win came against West Virginia Wesleyan in five sets 

• The Lakers are sixth in digs with 671 total (15.60 per set) 

• Kate Hennessy leads the team with 92 kills (2.14 per set) 

• Zoe Gadomski leads the Lakers with 143 digs (3.33 per set) 

Gannon  

• Gannon is a member of the PSAC West and is led by head coach Matt Darling 

• The Knights come into the match with a (9-4) overall record and (3-0) in PSAC play. 

• Gannon has won five of their last six matches with their only loss coming to Findlay in three sets 

• The Knights are ranked third in kills (12.56 per set), hitting percentage (.228) and assists (11.40 per set) 

• Sam Deinek leads Gannon with 145 kills (3.45 per set) 

• Sophia Glabus leads the Knights with 29 blocks (0.74 per set)
