Edinboro, Pa. – The Edinboro women's basketball is back in action on Wednesday when they host Mercyhurst at McComb Fieldhouse. Tip off is set for 5:30 p.m.
Last Time Out
The Scots are 12-7 overall and 9-5 in the PSAC West after falling to Gannon 80-63 Saturday afternoon.

Hayley Sims each tallied 11.
Wild, Wild West
After one rotation through the PSAC West, the standings are extremely tight with four teams tied for second at 9-5 including the Fighting Scots. Cal, IUP and UPJ are also 9-5. The Lakers currently occupy the final PSAC West playoff spot at 8-6 just one game out of second. Gannon leads the West at 11-3. Seton Hill and Slippery Rock are one-game out of the postseason picture at 7-7.
Stealing Possessions
Edinboro ranks fifth in the country in turnovers forced with 25.2 per contest. The Scots ranks eighth in the nation in steals per game with 12.9 per outing. They have used their ability to force turnovers to build a turnover margin of 8.2 the seventh best mark in the country. The Fighting Scots forced 26 Gannon turnovers on Saturday. Edinboro has also turned the turnovers into points averaging 26.7 per game in points off turnovers. Elhusseini averages 3.1 steals per game ranking 11th in the nation and first in the PSAC.
Lauren Mullen and Sims are tied for 14th in the conference with 1.8 steals per game.
Long Range Shooting
The Scots have been one of the nation's top 3-point shooting teams. Edinboro ranks fifth in the nation in 3-pointers attempted per game 28.5 and 11th in the country in triples made with 9.2 both marks lead the PSAC. Elhusseini is second in the PSAC and is 17th in D-II with 2.7 triples per game. Sims ranks fifth in the conference hitting 2.4 treys per outing.
Scoring the Basketball
The Fighting Scots lead the PSAC in scoring averaging 75.9 points per game the 18th best mark in the nation. Elhusseini ranks second in the conference averaging 20.1 points per game while Sims ranks eighth at 16.2.
Honor Roll
Elhusseini earned her second straight PSAC West Athlete of the Week honor and her third of the season. Elhusseini finished the week averaging 24 points, six assists, four rebounds and 3.7 steals per game. She tallied a career-high 36 points against IUP on Monday.
A Helping Hand
Elhusseini leads the Scots in assists and ranks fifth in the PSAC averaging 4.7 helpers per game. That average ranks 34
th in the nation.
Suman is second in the conference and ranks 56
th in DII with a 2.09 assist to turnover ratio.
Scouting the Lakers
Mercyhurst is 12-8 overall and 8-6 in the PSAC West after taking down Seton Hill 66-56 at home Saturday afternoon. Julia Buchman paced the Laker offense scoring 16 points. Lexi Wagner added a double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds. Grace Centrulla and Jayde Boyd each scored 10 points. The Lakers out rebounded the Griffins in the game 42-33.
Mercyhurst averages 72.6 points per game while holding opponents to 65.1. The Lakers do a great job protecting the ball turning it over at just 15.5 per game. Boyd leads the Lakers in scoring averaging 11.1 points per game. Buchman adds 10.8 points per game. She leads Mercyhurst with 37 made 3-pointers on the season. Centrulla is the third Mercyhurst player averaging double figures at 10.7 points per game.
