Edinboro, Pa. – The Edinboro women's basketball team returns to action after a 12-day layoff to play host to Charleston inside McComb Fieldhouse.
The Game
The Scots will play just their second home contest of the season home game of the season. The game is set to tip at 2 p.m.
Last Time Out
Edinboro went 1-1 in PSAC crossover action scoring a 65-58 victory over Kutztown on Dec. 1 and falling 79-55 to West Chester on Dec. 2.
Against Kutztown,
Hayley Sims led all scorers with 28 points to go with five steals, four rebounds and three blocks.
Morgan Gentile added 15 points and seven boards while
Allyson Kirby chipped in nine points and six rebounds. In the West Chester matchup, Sims paced the Edinboro offense with 24 points to go with five boards, three steals and two assists. Gentile tallied 12 points and six boards. Kirby pulled down a team-high seven rebounds.

The Scots rank second in the PSAC and 21
st in the nation with 4.8 blocks per game. Sims leads the team with 1.17 blocks per game while Gentile,
Ava Haddad and Kirby each have .83 per contest.

Edinboro ranks second in the conference in free throws made and free throws attempted. The Scots are shooting 22.4 free throws per game and making 16.0 for a 71.1 percentage.

Scouting the Golden Eagles
Charleston comes in with a 4-6 overall record after scoring a pair of MEC victories last week. The last time out, the Golden Eagles tallied a 66-53 victory over Wheeling University on Saturday. Austin Taylor led the offense with 21 points to go with five rebounds, five assists and five steals. Kiara Cruz added 14 points and Clarrissa Francis chipped in 12.
Charleston is averaging 64.4 pionts per game while allowing 68.2. They are even in rebounding on the season and have a -1.5 turnover margin. Francis and Nia Vanzant are each averaging 11.3 points per game. Taylor is also averaging double figures with 10.4 points.
