Lacrosse Open the 2022-23 Season with Trip to D’Youville

Erie, Pa. – Edinboro's women travel to The Saints of D'Youville College to begin their season. This is the first of four away games in 10 days for the Fighting Scots who look to hit the ground running to the start the season.

The trip to D'Youville marks the first official game of the season since the 2022 season ended. Head Coach Anthony Turini has added nine new players to the squad who will be looking to contribute to the team's efforts. The team sees eight players return from last year who will be looking to build on their performances from last season.

"I'm excited to be bringing in a big group of players with a mix of Freshmen and transfers which we hope will be able to contribute right away," said Head Coach Anthony Turini when looking ahead to the new season. "We will be a young team but have improved a lot in our athleticism. This will help to create more scoring opportunities this season and be better in our transition and then help to be quicker in the defensive transition."

Traci Culver also return's after scoring five goals in 2022, including one assist. Culver played in 17 games and was starter in all but one game.

Also returning are Natalia Corrales, Savannah Fischer, Morgan King, Lizzy Stokes, and Kate Crissman.

Adding to the squad in midfield is Rylee Jones who will help both in attack and defense. Caroline Zentis also plays midfield who was a local standout at Fairview High School.

Ellie Marak can play both attack and defense adding versatility to the squad. Haylee Wilson joins the defense of the team, similarly to fellow teammates Natalia and Lexi, Haylee is now a dual sport athlete after playing in the fall for the Edinboro soccer team.
