Whitewater, Wis. – The Edinboro wheelchair basketball team will compete at the NWBA College National Championships this weekend.
Opening Game
Edinboro opens the tournament in the eight-nine matchup with Southwest Minnesota State. The Scots have faced off with the Broncos three times this season with the most recent on March 3. Southwest Minnesota State has won the three contests this season.
"Both teams have a good handle on both strengths and weaknesses of the other team," said head coach
Jim Glatch. "I think that for us it is a matter of playing 40 minutes of Boro Basketball and not trying to get into a track meet with Southwest Minnesota State."
By the Numbers
Jeremy Evans is the leading scorer for the Scots at 12.1 points per game. He is also the leading rebounder at 6.0 boards per game.
Isaiah Johnson is the second leading scorer at 7.45 points per game. Edinboro averages 37.6 points per game while allowing 56.5 points per contest.
From Coach Glatch
"Each week I have watched the players grow in all aspects of the game. Yesterday at our last practice I asked each of the players what they had learned from this long season. There were a lot of incredible answers, but one of the freshmen said he felt that he better understood the process of being a student athlete and the importance of time management. He went on to say that being a part of this team has helped him to grow and understands that he still needs to continue to work. I think that sums up where this team is both on and off the court going into the National Tournament. This has been one of the best years working with this young group and know that all either freshman or sophomores."
