Lock Haven, Pa. – Two Fighting Scots,
Rana Elhusseini and
Hayley Sims, earned PSAC West First-Team All-Conference selections and
Callie Wheeler was named Coach of the Year announced by the conference office Thursday afternoon.
Elhusseini was the Scots leading scorer this season. She ranked third in the PSAC and 25
th in the nation with 19.0 points per game. She also ranked sixth in the conference in assists per game with 4.7 per contest. Elhusseini has been a force at the defensive end as well ranking third in the PSAC and 40
th in the country with 2.5 steals per contest. She had 13 games with 20 points and four of those where she scored 30 or more. Elhusseini also averaged 6.1 rebounds per game.
Sims ranked second on the Edinboro roster in scoring with 14.7 points per game the 14
th best mark in the PSAC. Sims also grabbed 4.6 boards per contest. Sims had six 20-point games this season including a career-high 34 points against Findlay. Sims also tallied 41 steals on the year.
Wheeler earned her first PSAC West Coach of Year honor in her fifth season at the helm of the Fighting Scot program. She led the Scots to a 17-12 record and a 13-9 mark in PSAC play. With the two all-conference selections this season, Wheeler has had six first-team and two second-team all-conference choices in her tenure. This season the Scots were the PSAC's top offensive team averaging 73.5 points per game. Edinboro also led the conference in turnovers forced (21.9), turnover margin (6.3), steals per game (11.3), and 3-pointer per game (8.0).
