Lock Haven, Pa. -- Junior guard Hayley Sims was named PSAC West Athlete of the Week for her performances against IUP and Mercyhurst this week.

Sims averaged 23.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.5 steals per game last week. Her 17.9 points per game currently ranks third in the PSAC.

In the Scots win over IUP Saturday, Sims scored 28 points and Sims became the 37th player in Edinboro history to score 1,000 career points. She also hit the game-winning 3-pointer with 5.6 seconds remaining in the game to lift the Scots to a 70-69 victory. Agaisnt Mercyhurst, Sims tallied 19 points, seven rebounds and three steals.

The Scots are back in action on Saturday when they host Seton Hill at 1 p.m. inside McComb Fieldhouse.
