Three Questions for Coach Glatch

Quick turnaround this week with a Sunday game and long travel. How do you reset and get ready for the games this weekend?  I met with the team yesterday prior to practice and discussed how we would take three areas of the game that needed work from the CUNY weekend and focus on those three things for our two practices and shoot around this week. The three areas are shooting, defensive switches in the half court and continuing to be aggressive in our offensive transition.  I think we attacked the basket better in the second game against CUNY, but shooting got in the way.

What do you want to see most improved from Sunday to this weekend? Much like going into the CUNY weekend, we need to make our shots.  I felt our shot selection was good, our half-court offense opened up looks that our players make in practice but haven't converted in games. I also want to see us do a better job of stopping top threats.  Initially our players identify and make the first stop, but after the first defensive rotation we leave ourselves in a mismatch situation and that has led to some easy scores.

What do you want to carryover from Sunday to the games this weekend?  I want to see our players continue to attack the basket and work with odd man situations.  I thought by the second half of our second game we were doing an excellent job with this area of the game. Once again, we missed shots at the basket.  It has taken us all year to get the mentality of being aggressive in all phases of the game and this past weekend I started to see some of what I had hoped for especially on offense.  I also like that we didn't get pushed around under the boards in the second game. Most of the season other teams have gotten a ton of offensive boards against us, the second game this past weekend the team did their best job in controlling this area.
