Edinboro, Pa. – The Edinboro women's basketball team will play host to a pair of PSAC West opponents on Wednesday and Saturday.
The Games
The Scots will take on No. 3 Gannon Wednesday night at 5:30 p.m. Edinboro hosts Pitt-Johnstown on Saturday at 1 p.m.
Last Time Out
Edinboro ran their record to 8-4 overall and 6-1 in PSAC West play after an 86-61 victory over Clarion Saturday afternoon inside McComb Fieldhouse.
Gillian Fisher scored a career-high 27 points while shooting 10-of-14 from the field. She also chipped in eight rebounds, three assists and two steals.
Hayley Sims added 16 points while going 6-of-9 from the field.
Winning With Defense
The Scots are holding opponents to 66.1 points per game. The Scots are 26
th in the nation in blocked shots per game with 4.5. Edinboro ranks third in the PSAC in turnover margin at +3.5 and steals 10.3 per contest. Sims leads the team with 9.2 blocks per game while
Morgan Gentile is the top Scot with 2.17 steals per game.
Offensive Leaders
Sims is the Scots leading scorer scoring 17.6 points per game. She adds 4.6 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.92 blocks per outing. Gentile chips in 13.3 points per game while grabbing 4.5 boards per contest. Fisher also averages double figures with 10.8 points per game shooting 50.0 percent from the field and 45.0 percent from three.

The Scots made their first appearance in the D2SIDA Media Poll in the receiving votes portion of the poll. Gannon is atop the D2SIDA regional poll and is ranked third in the country by the WBCA. UPJ also received five votes in the D2SIDA poll.
Scouting the Golden Knights
Gannon comes into Wednesday's contest with a 15-1 overall record and 6-0 mark in PSAC play. The Golden Knights are outscoring opponents 73.6-52.1 on the season. As a team, they shoot 46.0 percent from the field and 34.0 percent from beyond the arc. They are a +5.3 on the glass and are a +4.9 in turnover margin.
Sam Pirosko leads the Gannon offensive attack with 17.0 points per game while also grabbing a team-high 7.1 boards. Bri Claxon turns in 13.9 points per game off the bench hitting 46.2 percent of her 3-pointers.
Scouting the Mountain Cats
Pitt-Johnstown is currently 9-4 overall and 4-3 in PSAC play after dropping a 61-53 decision to Mercyhurst on Saturday. Cassidy Crawford led the UPJ offense with 22 points and seven rebounds. Kylah Franklin added 11 and Peyton Alazaus added 10. The Mountain Cats take on Clarion Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.
Pitt-Johnstown is averaging 68.4 points per game while allowing 60.9. The Mountain Cats are -0.3 on the glass and -1.1 in turnover margin. Crawford leads the offense with 16.3 points to go with 8.8 boards and 2.9 assists. Alazaus averages 14.8 points while Olivia Fasick chips in 10.1.
