Gentile Named PSAC West Defensive Player of the Week

Lock Haven, Pa. -- Edinboro women's basketball standout Morgan Gentile was named the PSAC West Defensive Athlete of the Week as she helped the Scots to a 2-0 record with road wins at Mansfield and East Stroudsburg.

Gentile led the Scots to a pair of PSAC wins over Mansfield and East Stroudsburg averaging 16.5 points and 8.5 rebounds per game. She also averaged 2.0 blocks and 2.0 steals per contest.

In the Scots win over Mansfield, Gentile tallied 21 points and 12 rebounds to go with three blocks and a steal.  With the Scot defense shutting down East Stroudsburg, Gentile notched 12 points and five boards in just under 29 minutes of action. The Scots held the Warriors to single digit scoring in both the first and third quarter. Gentile tallied three steals and a block.  Edinboro held the PSAC's leading scorer Emily Chmiel well below her 21.8 point average holding her to just eight points.

The Scots return to action on Wednesday with a non-conference contest at Wayne State. Tip off is set for 4:30 p.m.
