Edinboro Athletics Set to Honor Wheelchair Basketball Coach Jim Glatch Ahead of His Retirement

After 29 years at the helm of the Edinboro wheelchair basketball program, Jim Glatch has announced he will retire at the end of the 2023-24 season.

Glatch's last home game will be Saturday, Feb. 24 at 1:15 p.m. when the Scots take on Missouri. There will be a ceremony prior to that game, approximately starting at 1 p.m., to recognize Jim and his commitment to Edinboro and the wheelchair basketball program.

In addition to his work with Edinboro wheelchair basketball, Glatch served as the director of Team USA's Senior National Program from 2009-2012. His teams have earned success in international competition. He guided Team USA 23 team to the 2009 IWBF U23 World Championship, as the United States finished with a perfect 8-0 record while competing in Paris, France. That team included former Edinboro standouts Tommie Gray and Trevon Jenifer. The United States capped its perfect run to the title with a 77-54 win over Spain.

Glatch and his Team USA earned the bronze medal at the 2012 Paralympics in London, England. It was the first medal for the men's team since 2000.

During his tenure, the Scots have had success both on the court and in the classroom. Glatch has coached 19 All-Americans, 15 Academic All-Americans, four All-Rookie players and three CID Sportsmanship Award winners.
