Champaign, Ill. – The Edinboro wheelchair basketball team scored a 64-51 victory over the City University of New York Wednesday afternoon in the opening round of the NIWBT Championship.
The Scots trailed 19-17 after the first quarter. In the second, the Edinboro defense held CUNY to just eight points while the Scots put up 20 to take a 37-28 lead into the break.
In the third, the Scots and CUNY played even at 14-14. Edinboro closed out the game with a 13-10 fourth quarter to set the final.
James Pollard just missed a triple double with 24 points, 12 rebounds and nine assists.
Jeremy Evans tallied 24 points, seven boards and four assists.
Dakarai Moore added 10 points and six rebounds.
The Scots take on No. 1 seed Arizona at 10 a.m. on Thursday.
