Women’s Basketball Back in Action with Pair of PSAC West Contests

Edinboro, Pa. – The Edinboro women's basketball returns to action with two PSAC West contests this week.
 
The Games
The Scots play host to Slippery Rock on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. inside McComb Fieldhouse. The game will be broadcast on the PSAC Digital Network and Edinboro Athletics will provide live stats. On Saturday, Edinboro travels to Clarion for a 1 p.m. tip with the Golden Eagles. The game is broadcast on the PSAC Digital Network with Clarion Athletics providing live stats.
 
Last Time Out
The Fighting Scots improved to 12-8 overall and 9-2 in PSAC West play after scoring an 80-65 victory over Seton Hill on Saturday. Rachael Manfredo stuffed the stat sheet scoring 19 points while blocking six shots, pulling down five rebounds and grabbing three steals. Taylor Blunt just missed a double-double with 18 points and nine boards to go with three assists and three steals. Ava Haddad added 14 while shooting 6-of-9 from the field and dishing out seven assists with five rebounds. Hope Garrity added 14 points as well.
 
PSAC Honors
Manfredo earned PSAC West Defensive Player of the Week honors for her performance against IUP and Seton Hill. She averaged 13.5 points and 3.5 rebounds per game. She tallied 4.0 blocks per game and 2.5 steals per outing as the Scots went 1-1 against IUP and Seton Hill last week. In the Scots win over Seton Hill she was a shot blocking machine recording six blocks to go with two steals. She also poured in 19 points. Against IUP she notched eight points with two blocks and two steals.
 
Slippery Rock
The Rock are 6-11 overall and 4-7 in the PSAC West after scoring a 74-61 victory over California (Pa.) on Saturday. Sophia Hook paced Slippery Rock with 20 points to go with five rebounds. Mairan Haggerty tallied 17 points and seven boards. Alyssa Gillin chipped in 15 points and Iyanna Wade 14.
 
Clarion
The Golden Eagles are 11-6 overall and 6-5 in conference play and coming off a 78-77 victory over No. 7 IUP on Saturday. Arianna Seitz led Clarion with 18 points. Zoe Bayer added 16 points on 7-of-8 shooting from the field. Alyssa Terza notched a double-double of 11 points and 10 boards. Clarion travels to Gannon on Wednesday.
