Edinboro to Host NWBA Intercollegiate Division National Championships

EDINBORO, Pa. (February 23, 2016) – Edinboro University will host the 39th National Wheelchair Basketball Association Intercollegiate Division National Championships at McComb Fieldhouse on Thursday, March 10 to Saturday, March 12. This marks the first time Edinboro has hosted the event since 2007, when head coach Jim Glatch led his Fighting Scots to a runner-up finish.
 
A total of nine men's teams and four women's team will descend upon McComb Fieldhouse for the three-day event. Pairings will not be announced until early next week.  Wisconsin-Whitewater is in search of its third straight men's title and fifth in the last six years. On the women's side, Alabama won its fourth championship a year ago, ending the string of three straight titles for Wisconsin-Whitewater.
 
The action gets underway at 8 a.m. on Thursday with first round games and will continue throughout the day, with the last of seven games to tipoff at 8 p.m. The teams are back on the court on Friday at 8 a.m., with six games, the last set to start at 6 p.m. The last game will be followed by the awards reception that night for teams and coaches, with the All-American and All-Academic teams announced.
 
The first game on Saturday is set for 8 a.m. The women's national championship will begin at 2 p.m., with the men's championship game to follow at 4 p.m.
 
An all-session pass is priced at $15 for adults and $3 for students. Single-day tickets are $7 for adults and $2 for students.
