The Fighting Scots will make their return to McComb Fieldhouse for the first time since January 30 when they handed Mercyhurst a 68-54 defeat.
Saturday's contest is the annual Fighting Scots Fighting Cancer Day designated as "Hoops for Harlie" as Edinboro honors the memory of former Girard High School standout Harlie Rae Bolt, who tragically passed away following a short battle with leukemia. All proceeds raised throughout the day will benefit "Halos for Harlie" Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
Admission to Saturday's game is free with a donation. Edinboro clinched its seventh straight PSAC Tournament berth with Wednedays' 79-75 win at Pitt-Johnstown. The Fighting Scots have won eight of their last ten games, recording season sweeps against Mercyhurst, Slippery Rock and UPJ.
Edinboro won the first meeting with Clarion, 74-68, on January 9. Edinboro looks for the sixth season sweep of the Golden Eagles in the past seven seasons.
The Golden Eagles enter the contest at 8-17 overall and are 8-11 in the PSAC West. Clarion has dropped seven of its last ten outings, including the 74-68 loss at the hands of Edinboro in McComb Fieldhouse on January 9.
In the season's first meeting, the Fighting Scots won the turnover battle, forcing 13 Clarion turnovers that they cashed in for 16 points. Edinboro, meanwhile committed just eight turnovers, the second lowest total all season. Edinboro also dominated in the paint to the tune of a 26-12 margin as senior forward
Aignee' Freeland scored a season-high 28 points and grabbed 10 boards.
The Fighting Scots average 69.1 ppg., good for eighth in the PSAC, while allowing 64.1 ppg., which ranks seventh. Clarion comes into the contest averaging 63.3 ppg., which is 14
th in the PSAC, while allowing 70.4 ppg., ranking 16
th in the conference.
Edinboro ranks among the leaders in Division II in several categories. The Fighting Scots are ninth in total assists (396), 12
th in total rebounds (995), and 13
th in total blocks (117). Those figures all lead the PSAC.
Aignee' Freeland leads the PSAC with 49 blocks and ranks eighth in rebounding with 8.6 rpg.
The Fighting Scots feature a dangerous trio of 3-point shooters in
Michelle Jahn,
Lauren Hippo, and
Katie Fischer. The trio is the first since 2013-14 to record 45 3-pointers apiece. Jahn, Hippo, and Fischer combine to account for 149 of Edinboro's 151 3-pointers. Jahn leads the trio with 58 3-pointers, the 11
th most in single-season history.
Edinboro leads the PSAC with 396 total assists. In games the Fighting Scots record 15 or more assists they are 12-3.
Katie Fischer leads the PSAC and ranks sixth in Division II with 6.3 assists per game and her 157 total assists rank third in the nation and are the seventh most in single-season history.
The Fighting Scots have made frequent trips to the charity stripe this season, ranking third in the PSAC with 483 free throw attempts. Edinboro is 15-3 in games where they attempt 15-or-more free throws and just 2-5 when they attempt less than 15 foul shots.
Edinboro has maintained a strong presence on the glass this season, ranking third in the PSAC with a +5.6 rebound margin. The Fighting Scots have been out-rebounded in just six contests this season and are 1-5 in those games.

Aignee' Freeland posted her fifth double-double of the season with 28 points and 10 rebounds to lead Edinboro to the road win at Tippin Gymnasium.
Katie Fischer added 19 points and eight assists and
Lauren Hippo contributed 15 markers. The Fighting Scots led at the half, 36-31, but an 18-8 Clarion run found the Scots trailing 49-46. Edinboro responded with 12 straight points -- eight by Fischer and four by Freeland -- to regain the lead for good. Clarion would close to within four points late in the contest, but Hippo's 3-pointer and a Freeland free throw gave the Fighting Scots a 72-64 lead with 42 seconds to play. Edinboro held Clarion to 36.2 percent shooting from the floor and committed just eight turnovers. The Golden Eagles had three players in double figures, led by Tyra Polite's 20 points. Tania Holmes and Jordan Bekelja added 18 and 12, respectively.

After starting the contest just 2-of-8 from the field and turning the ball over five times in the first eight minutes of play, Edinboro went on to score a season-high 49 second half points. Trailing by four points at 69-65 with 3:54 remaining in the game, the Fighting Scots went on a 14-6 run, sparked by a
Katie Fischer steal and finish on the other end. Fischer converted three-point play down the stretch to put the Fighting Scots up for good at 76-73 with 27 seconds remaining.
Michelle Jahn led the Fighting Scots with a career-high 28 points, making of 5-of-13 3-pointers.
Aignee' Freeland added 16 points followed by Fischer with 13 points, all in the second half.
Whitney Allen recorded her first career double-double, totaling 10 points and 10 rebounds.

The IUP lead grew to 45-27 by halftime and increased to as many as 25 points in the third quarter. The Crimson Hawks shot 50.8 percent from the field, while holding Clarion to 41.8 percent shooting, and won the battle on the glass as well, holding a 36-28 rebound margin. Jordan Bekelja led the Golden Eagles with a career-high 19 points. Tania Holmes was the only other Clarion player in double-figures, finishing with 15 points.

FULL RECAP THE HEAD COACHES Edinboro: Stan Swank (Purdue '76, 530-291, 29th year)Swank is in his 29
th season as the head coach at Edinboro and ranks as the all-time winningest coach in PSAC history and is also the longest tenured. He owns a career record of 530-291 at Edinboro, and over the previous five seasons Edinboro had a 125-27 record. The Fighting Scots seek their seventh straight PSAC Tournament appearance and have won three PSAC championships during that five-year span, the last coming in 2014. Swank entered the 2015-16 season tied for 12
th among active Division II coaches in victories. That figure is tied for 24
th all-time in overall victories. He ranks 35
th in career winning percentage (.645). Edinboro finished with a 20-8 record a year ago, the fifth straight season with 20-or-more wins and the 11

Clarion: Jana Ashley (North Alabama '03, 10-42, 2nd year)Ashley is in her second season at the helm in Clarion. Ashley was tasked with guiding the Golden Eagles through a rebuilding campaign, taking control of the program prior to the 2014-15 season, which saw just 2 wins. Clarion's eight wins this season are the most since 2013-14. Prior to joining the Clarion staff, Ashley was an accomplished NCAA Division I assistant coach. In her 11 years as an assistant (five at Radford, five at George Mason, one at Iona), she was part of three 20-win seasons and two NIT postseason appearances.

Heather Gates (1,301) and Montique Wade (1,113) rank first and second, respectively. Freeland is also fifth all-time in career blocks with 129. The 6'3'' forward leads the PSAC with 49 blocks this season, the 12

th on the all-time scoring list at 1,036 points and ranks among the all-time 3-point shooters in Edinboro history. Hippo is ranked second all-time in 3-point percentage at 38.5 percent, fifth in career 3-pointers made (169) and sixth in career 3-pointers attempted (439). Hippo is fourth on the team in scoring at 11.7 ppg., shooting 29.1 percent from beyond the arc. She is third the team in rebounding, averaging a career-high 5.0 rpg. Earlier this week, Hippo was named a CoSIDA Academic All-District selection.
Katie Fischer (G, 5'7", Jr.) – the transfer from Mercyhurst is in her first season at Edinboro and continues her impressive season as a Fighting Scot, leading the PSAC and ranking sixth in Division II with 6.3 assists per game. She ranks third in the nation with 157 total assists, the seventh-most in single-season history. Fischer is second on the team in scoring at 16.1 ppg., good for seventh in the PSAC. Fischer has recorded four double-digit assist games this season and posted five double-doubles.
Michelle Jahn (G, 5'8'', Fr.) - the four-time PSAC West Freshman of the week has proven to be one of the most dangerous 3-pt. threats in the conference. The General McLane product ranks third in the PSAC with a 41.4 3-pt. percentage and third with 58 3-pt. field goals. Jahn's 58 3-pointers are tied for the 11

th victory at Pitt-Johnstown. Clarion has dropped seven of their last ten outings, five by double-figures.
Clarion has struggled away from from the friendly confines of Tippin Gymnasium the past six seasons. The Golden Eagles are just 12-61 in road games since 2010-11, including 3-9 in 2015-16.
Senior Tania Holmes leads four Golden Eagles scorers in double-figures, averaging 13.6 ppg. The 2015 second-team All-PSAC West selection joined the 1,000-point club earlier this season. Holmes combines with freshman Jordan Bekelja to form a pair of PSAC steal leaders. Holmes and Bekelja are tied for sixth in the PSAC with 44 steals apiece.
Tyra Polite, a transfer from Kirkwood Community College, averages 13.3 ppg. from her guard spot. Polite is tied for third in the PSAC with Edinboro's

Former Villa Maria standout Amesha Harden-Pulliam comes off the bench to contribute 3.5 ppg. Fellow Villa Maria alum, Nicole Maxson also comes off the bench, averaging 1.7 ppg. and 1.5 rpg.
