The Fighting Scots enter Wednesday's contest at 19-8 overall and 14-7 in the PSAC West. With a win against California (Pa.), Edinboro will record its sixth-straight 20-win season. The Fighting Scots have won ten of their last twelve games, recording season sweeps against Mercyhurst, Slippery Rock, Pitt-Johnstown, Clarion and Seton Hill.
The Fighting Scots have already clinched their seventh straight PSAC Tournament berth and a home PSAC Tournament game and are currently tied for third. Edinboro needs a a win and a Gannon loss on Wednesday to capture the third seed. The third seed will play either Slippery Rock or Seton Hill, while the fourth seed will host Mercyhurst.
The Vulcans enter the contest at 20-5 overall and are in first place in the PSAC West, sitting at 17-4. California (Pa.) can clinch the first seed in the West with a win or an Indiana (Pa.) loss. The Vulcans have rattled off nine straight victories and have won eleven of their last 12 outings, with the lone loss coming against Edinboro in McComb Fieldhouse on January 20.
In this season's first meeting, Edinboro handed the Vulcans a 73-54 loss, just their second double-digit loss of the season and the first since a matchup at West Liberty on November 15. The Fighting Scots used a big second quarter to take a 37-29 lead into the half. Edinboro is 17-1 this season when leading at the half.
The Fighting Scots average 69.9 ppg., good for sixth in the PSAC, while allowing 63.7 ppg., which ranks seventh. California (Pa.) comes into the contest averaging 72.6 ppg., which is third in the PSAC, while allowing just 62.5 ppg., the fourth-best figure in the conference.
With the PSAC West playoff picture all but decided, the sixth and final playoff spot will be decided on Wednesday. Slippery Rock and Seton Hill are in a battle for that final spot, and with a win or a Slippery Rock loss, the Seton Hill Griffins will clinch the last remaining seed in the West.

After holding Edinboro scoreless for over three minutes in the opening quarter, the Vulcans took a 14-10 lead into the second quarter. The Fighting Scots opened the second quarter with a 20-7 run to grab a nine-point lead at 30-21 with four minutes left in the half and took a 37-29 lead into the locker room at halftime. California would close the gap to just three points at 47-44 with 2:48 remaining in the third quarter, but Edinboro closed out the quarter on a 7-2 run and closed out the contest on a 19-2 run to upset the defending national champions.
Aignee' Freeland was one of two Fighting Scots to register a double-double, finishing with 26 points and 13 rebounds.
Katie Fischer totaled 15 points and 11 assists.
Lauren Hippo added a season-high 23 points. Edinboro dominated the glass, holding a 44-27 advantage and limited the PSAC's leading scorer Miki Glenn to 15 points and just two points in the second half.

Edinboro led 26-10 after one period and 45-31 at the half. Trailing 62-44 entering the fourth quarter, the Griffins pulled within six points at 71-65 with 2:15 left to play. Edinboro answered with a run of their own, outscoring Seton Hill, 9-2, to build the lead back up to 75-65 with 1:26 remaining.
Aignee' Freeland led three Fighting Scots in double-figures with 22 point and seven rebounds.
Katie Fischer totaled 19 points and nine assists.
Michelle Jahn added 17 points and six boards. Edinboro dominated the glass, holding a 47-34 advantage, including 17 offensive rebounds leading to 14 second-chance points.

Four Vulcans scored in double-figures, led by Miki Glenn with 19 points. Shatara Parsons added 14 points, while Precious Martin and Paige Wright contributed 11 and 10, respectively. California (Pa.) shot 49.1 percent from the field, including going 60.0 percent 18-of-30) from the floor in the second half. The Vulcans forced 26 Laker turnovers that they cashed in for 23 points. California (Pa.) also dominated the paint, outscoring Mercyhurst 40-18.

th season as the head coach at Edinboro and ranks as the all-time winningest coach in PSAC history and is also the longest tenured. He owns a career record of 532-291 at Edinboro, and over the previous five seasons Edinboro had a 125-27 record. The Fighting Scots seek their seventh straight PSAC Tournament appearance and have won three PSAC championships during that five-year span, the last coming in 2014. Swank entered the 2015-16 season tied for 12
th among active Division II coaches in victories. That figure is tied for 24
th all-time in overall victories. He ranks 35
th in career winning percentage (.645). Edinboro finished with a 20-8 record a year ago, the fifth straight season with 20-or-more wins and the 11

Strom is a former four-year starter at Penn State, earning three All-Big Ten selections and joining the 1,000-point club.

The senior forward ranks sixth on Edinboro's all-time scoring list with 1,514 career points. She is also third all-time in career rebounds with 935 boards. Heather Gates (1,301) and Montique Wade (1,113) rank first and second, respectively. Freeland is also fifth all-time in career blocks with 137. The 6'3'' forward is second in the PSAC with 53 blocks this season, the 12
th-most in single-season history. She also ranks fifth in the PSAC in scoring (16.6 ppg.) and ninth in rebounding (8.3 rpg.). Freeland has recorded nine double-doubles this season, good for fifth in the PSAC.

Hippo is ranked third all-time in 3-point percentage at 38.8 percent, fifth in career 3-pointers made (174) and fifth in career 3-pointers attempted (448). Hippo is fourth on the team in scoring at 11.8 ppg. She is third the team in rebounding, averaging a career-high 5.0 rpg and has attempted 167 3-pointers this season, the tenth most in a single-season. Hippo was recently named a CoSIDA Academic All-District selection and is currently on the national ballot.
Katie Fischer (G, 5'7", Jr.) – the transfer from Mercyhurst is in her first season at Edinboro and continues her impressive season as a Fighting Scot, leading the PSAC and ranking sixth in Division II with 6.5 assists per game. She ranks fourth in the nation with 176 total assists, the seventh-most in single-season history. Fischer is second on the team in scoring at 16.1 ppg., good for ninth in the PSAC. Fischer has recorded five double-digit assist games this season and posted six double-doubles.
Michelle Jahn (G, 5'8'', Fr.) – the six-time PSAC West Freshman of the Week has proven to be one of the most dangerous 3-pt. threats in the conference. The General McLane High School product ranks third in the PSAC with a 40.8 3-point percentage, the tenth highest in season history, and third with 64 3-pt. field goals. Jahn's 64 3-pointers are the sixth-most in single-season history. Jahn has scored in double figures in seven of the past eight contests and has recorded a 3-point field goal in all but four games this season. She is third on the team averaging 12.5 ppg.

HTML2015-16 ROSTER The Vulcans enter Wednesday's contest riding a nine-game winning streak and in first place in the PSAC West. California (Pa.) is averaging 76.6 ppg. during the nine-game stretch. With a win or Indiana (Pa.) loss, the defending national champion will clinch the top-seed in the Western Division.
The California roster features a pair of PSAC West Freshmen of the Year in Miki Glenn (2014) and Seairra Barrett (2015). Glenn was named the MVP of both the PSAC Tournament and the NCAA Atlantic Regional Tournament last season.
